  1. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

    Just finished reading this amazing book! :) I finally started reading it yesterday after having nothing to do and looking for a good book to read. I remember always seeing this book whenever I go to the bookstore, it was always on the best sellers items which is one of the first books you’ll see. It never caught my attention to start reading it then since I thought it would be just sci-fi and action. And I’m more about the romance, drama, fantasy of the kind that’s why I didn’t bother checking it out. 

    One of the reasons that really got me to read the book was for the fact that I heard it was going to be adapted into a movie, to be out next year! and there were talks about Johnny Depp being one of the casts! so yeah, that would make you say, “kaya naman pala!” :)) Also, I remembered a friend of mine suggested it to me and trusting his judgment, I downloaded it from the net, transfered it into my phone and started reading it. 

    I never expected to like it as much! before I knew it, it was waaaaaay past my bed time and I’m on chapter 4 already! hahaha it was that good for me that I couldn’t stop reading it. It surprised me how it also has romance in it pala.. and I enjoyed the humor put into it. It also made me anxious and frightened at the same time. I started admiring the protagonist and narrator of the book, it made me wish I was a bit like her. It was also refreshing to read about something new, read a novel that’s so full of adventure, it makes you experience it yourself. 

    Now, I’m off to read the next one since the ending of the first book was soooo bitin! I am itching to know what happens next…so, later! ;)

  2. Starlight, Starbright!

    I just received an awesome gift from the heavens…to be able to witness and see the longest and brightest star shooting across the sky! And that was while I was riding my bike… Now u might think I might’ve just mistaken it for an airplane but I can assure you, it wasn’t an airplane.. its direction was downwards and it really left a mark as it moves in the sky..it was bright yellow then it became bluish then disappeared! Oh how I wish to see that again! I sped my bike as I follow its direction to see as it disappeared into thin air and then I scrambled my thoughts to make a wish..hahaha! I was so mesmerized I forgot the tradition of making a wish! lol :p I am still stunned thinking about it. These are just little things that can REALLY make my day. ;)

  6. The Green Hornet Experience

    So I finally got to watch this film and guess what? I liked it very much. 

    I enjoy watching superhero comic books adapted into movies (since I don’t have time or money to actually buy one) and because I’m not a movie critic nor do I want to become one, as long as a film interests me to the very end, I immediately put it on my “Favorite Movies” list. 

    Now the only thing I know about the Green Hornet prior to watching it was that it was a comic book before it was adapted into the screen. And the reason why I was so intrigued to watch it, was because Seth Rogen starred in it! ahahaha! (Yes, I am a Seth Rogen fan! ^__^) I also doubted if the movie was a serious adaptation of the comic book because let’s face it, Seth Rogen = Superhero doesn’t really match up.. hehehe like others thought as well. Despite others predicting it will be a worthless, corny film, I still wanted very much to watch it! (I don’t listen to critics anyway lol) and although I was unable to watch it in the big screen (even though I sooo wanted to!) I waited a week after it’s release till I can find a decent source where I could download it! hahaha! Hearing my sister’s response to how she enjoyed the movie made me yearn to watch it asap!! Just for the fact that I love Seth Rogen, I knew I would enjoy it no matter what.

    Like always, I am amazed to see how gadgets are made and used in an action film so that was a blast! but I never expected to rave more about Kato than Brit Reid in the end. He looked familiar to me when I saw him in the trailer, I even thought he’s had other Hollywood movies as well. But when I googled him I learned how it’s his first Hollywood film but he is a successful actor in China and that he’s also a singer/song writer! His name is definitely familiar since I’ve seen that name in music videos before. 

    I loved how Seth Rogen stayed true to himself, considering he also wrote the script together with the director, so he played Britt Reid someone we never thought he’d be. Aloof and witty but still…a bad ass!! lol It’s the kind of action I approve of, it has its moments of comedy all through out! Jay Chou was also surprisingly funny..he jive well with Seth Rogen’s antics! and he is really hot! To think if he’s as cool as Kato in real life! hahaha he really put in a touch of himself into his character…like how he played that piano really well or how he loves classic music and that he CAN sing! (sorry, newbie fan eh! :p) I like him a lot now! ^__^ and I will not be surprised if I see more of his works after this. 

    I’ve had a lot of “woah” moments while watching it and it’s been great! It’s also fantastic how Mythbusters  featured an Green Hornet Special episode and tried out all the unbelievable stunts they’ve pulled off. I got to watch that before I even got to watch the movie and it was amazing how some stunts can possibly happen in real life, like how a car can still drive even if cut into half! haha although a lot has to be done before that happens…but STILL!!

    Overall, I really liked the film and I recommend you to go see it as well..if you have then good for you! lol! It’s a very entertaining film and for those who think the story’s unoriginal, it’s SETH ROGEN’S ADAPTATION! it’s very original!! LOL…that I’m hoping for a sequel! >_<

  8. So I just finished watching this movie and it was AWESOME!! :)  I didn&#8217;t know this movie until I watched the Golden Globes and it was nominated for Best Picture. What actually got me to watch it was seeing Helen Mirren holding that rifle during the trailer&#8230;lol so I downloaded it and made my dad watch it as well (&#8216;coz I know how he loves action films :p) I was surprised to see big celebrities playing each roles, some merely a cameo and I wondered, well, Bruce Willis was starring in it so I guess he DOES have a lot of good friends in the industry! lol and yes, he STILL got it!  I love the movies&#8217; action scenes and it&#8217;s subtle comedy that got us watching for more. And I really enjoyed John Malkovich and Helen Mirren&#8217;s performance in it. They were both kick ass!!! I don&#8217;t really know some of their movies but after watching them, it made me want to go check it out. At first, I thought why is the title &#8220;RED&#8221; and then I learned it means &#8220;Retired. Extremely. Dangerous.&#8221;  since they were all former Black-Ops agents of the CIA&#8230;and that they still got it! So yeah, definitely worth fitting for a title! ;) hahaha!
